8 Tips to Improve Self EsteemAs an aspiring female entrepreneur starting a business or working from home, you might feel the fear of letting go of your 9 to 5 job.

Why do you view life as an employee more secure than working for yourself?

For starters, having a so-called “normal” job isn’t necessarily secure at all.

With that in mind, let’s talk about how much power you have to create your own dream.

With that power, you are in a truly secure position, because you are in charge of your own destiny.

Being in charge might seem frightening at first, and your self-esteem may be low, but when you realise that you are stepping into your power, you can overcome this fear quicker than you ever thought possible.

Are you ready to step into your power?

8 Amazing Tips to Improve Self-Esteem

When you are ready to finally make a change in your life and work on those things that need improving, the universe has a way of helping you out.

Here are my top tips to help improve your self-esteem and boost your confidence. It’s time to let that light of yours shine brightly!

1. Change Negative Thoughts

Negative thoughts are our downfall. But when you learn to recognise them and shut them down, this is when the magic happens. You must realise you are capable of changing those thoughts that tell you false things like, I’m not good enough.

These limiting self-beliefs are not real! They are just thoughts, and they can be changed! Change these negative thoughts into positive ones to improve your self-esteem, and your whole world will change.

2. Know Your Strengths

Confident women have something in common: they all focus on their strengths instead of their weaknesses. What good will focusing on your weaknesses do you?

Focusing on your strengths will show you what areas you shine in. The strengths that you naturally have are your value, and they are what make you special. To improve self-esteem, focus on the value you have to give, not your shortcomings.

When just starting out on your own self-employment journey or taking steps to professional freedom, you might feel like your strengths are lacking.

It’s important to remember that you will learn and grow with the process, which will only sharpen your strengths, and the weaknesses will melt away. While working for yourself, you have the power to use only your strengths in your business.

While working for someone else, you may have no choice but to try your hardest on a project that showcases your weakness, because that’s your job. Now that YOU hold the cards, only your most valuable traits can shine through. The power lies completely in your hands!

3. Practice Gratitude

Practice gratitude, as often as you can to improve self-esteem. Gratitude is an immense force of love and well-being. If you are focusing on what you are grateful for it is impossible to be focusing on the negatives.

The anecdote to worry and anxiety is gratitude. You can instantly transform your worries into gratitude. Remind yourself of all the things, people, resources, and talents you have right now.

There are endless things to be grateful for. It’s hard to feel even the slightest bit insecure with gratitude on your side.

4. Practice Self-Care

Self-care isn’t some self-indulgent concept. It’s a core component to becoming your most joyful, creative & effective self. 💖 #selfcaresaturday

— Marie Forleo (@marieforleo) April 7, 2018

Self-care is not selfish. When you are starting a business, it’s easy to get wrapped up in business and forget about your personal needs. But remember that YOU need to be in your best working order to help others. You cannot be of service to anyone if you’ve neglected yourself.

Self-care is the ultimate form of self-love. Love yourself, treat yourself, and speak kindly to yourself. When you are filled with love and content, it’s easy to provide the same for others. If you don’t believe in yourself, others won’t either.

It’s important to be a role model of loving yourself and exuding confidence, and others will easily pick up your loving energy. Your self-esteem is tied to how good you treat yourself.

Regularly practice self-care for a confidence boost. Try creating a morning routine to help with this.

5. Helping Others Raises Self-Esteem

After you’ve given yourself the highest level of care possible, you are ready and able to give back to others. There is a deep sense of accomplishment and confidence when you find yourself helping others.

You might do this through your business or possibly look for other ways to help outside of your work. Take pride in volunteering or helping those who are less fortunate. When you can make others feel amazing, you will feel amazing about yourself!

To have more confidence, stop analyzing yourself and focus on how you can contribute to others. #quoteoftheday

6. Quit Comparing Yourself to Others

Comparing yourself to others is slowly ripping away your joy. You are just starting out, and you may want to compare yourself with other women who have already achieved.

But, the problem is, success takes time. Comparing yourself to others holds no value for your success. The more you compare, the less confidence you will have!

The focus is on you, always. Don’t focus on how far others have come. You are not following the same path they are, you are taking your own path.

7. Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Sometimes, it’s scary to take a leap. Stepping out of your comfort zone is one of the most valuable experiences you can have for yourself. When you leave your comfort zone, you learn a lot about yourself, your capabilities, and you ultimately experience growth.

The greatest confidence boost is when you accomplish something that you never thought you could! There is growth in the uncomfortable moments. Teach yourself to step out of your comfort zone and try new things.

Start however small you wish, but the key is to try. You’ll never know what you are capable of doing until it’s done. It’s easy to stay small and safe when your confidence is low, but stretching outwards and trying new things is really the best way to learn about yourself.

Once you realise how expansive you are, your confidence will soar. No matter what happens outside of your comfort zone, you know that you have your own back. You are your own inspiration because you can handle anything.

8. Have Faith In Yourself

We truly need to have faith in ourselves in order to grow. Confidence comes from trying something new, nailing it, and realising you have so many amazing abilities.

If you don’t succeed the first time, have faith a second time. Confidence gets you to the other side, where you will reach success, and all you need is faith in yourself.

Think about the people in your life that you love. I bet you have faith in them; you have faith they are good people, you have faith they will live a successful life, and you have faith they can achieve anything.

Why not think those same thoughts about yourself?

To improve self-esteem have faith that no matter what happens, you got this. You have infinite value!Click To Tweet

You can pick up where you left off. You can handle things on your own. Anything that is thrown your way will be dealt with. It has been in the past, right? Everything turns out right in the end. Have faith that it will, and you are the one to make it all happen.

You Deserve Good Things!

The greatest thing you can remember is that you are the force behind all the things that happen to you. Shut down the negative thoughts that keep you afraid. You have the capacity to change those thoughts into thoughts that work for you, not against you.

Know yourself and focus on your strengths. Your strengths are your backbone. Let your strengths be put on display and let them shine. Be grateful for where you are in the present. Be grateful for all that has taken you to this point.

Be grateful for your mug of coffee, the freedom you are giving yourself, and the small moments in your day that bring you peace. There is much to be grateful for!

10 Tips for Improved Self-Esteem

Loving Yourself First

Loving yourself is a form of self-respect. Practice self-care as often as possible because you are worthy of it.

Dive in to help others – Do things that make a difference for you and for others. Your self-esteem will soar when you use your value to provide for others. Find a sense of accomplishment and pride in the work you do helping others.

Don’t risk feeling bad about yourself because you wish to be in the position of someone else. Nobody is YOU and that is your power. Let others inspire you to do great, but do not envy them. You cannot compare anyone else’s journey to your own.

Conclusion

Do something each day that scares you. It’s okay to take baby steps! The goal is to try. If you don’t try new things, how will anything ever change? Believe it or not, trying new things is a major confidence booster. Why? Because when you accomplish things you thought you couldn’t you will feel a rush of pride.

There is so much good that comes from stepping out of your comfort zone, surviving, and knowing you can go back for more! Because you did it! Things get less and less intimidating.

Once you begin trying new things, you will realise you have a great deal of faith in yourself. You have your best interest in mind. You are always taking good care of yourself. You are capable of things you weren’t even aware of!

Once you make the decision to have faith in yourself, it is impossible to let yourself down. You are resilient once you have faith in yourself. You will never give up on yourself.

What do you do that helps you overcome self-doubt and improve self-esteem? Tell me in the comments, I’d love to hear.

NUmber 6 is my favorite! ALl too frequently we are worried about how we measure up. Social media isn’t helping with this either, but its so important to be happy with who you are.

Absolutely. Many studies have shown that social media is actually proving to be detrimental to self-esteem, particularly in teenage girls. It’s so important to practice self-care and work on loving yourself and being true to who you are.

What a great post! I try to practice most of these things because I feel they really do help. I think a big one most people don’t think about is the self care. We all practice self care but I dont think we really think about the benefits it does for us. I notice a HUGE difference in myself on the days I get up and get ready compared to the days I lounge around around in my pjs all day. I’m much more productive when I get ready. Its like I know I look good and therefore I feel good and I’m ready to tackle the day! Thanks for sharing!

Practising self-care to improve self-esteem is essential nowadays. We all lead such busy lives, it’s easy to forget to just slow down, take those moments of mindfulness, and appreciate all the good things we have!

This is so true! Remembering to practice self-care can really improve your self-esteem in every way. Taking time for yourself, loving yourself, and knowing that is is OK (and in fact necessary) to do so, is a key step in the journey towards better self-esteem and confidence.

How exciting! I’m glad you found the info useful. As female entrepreneurs, we often need a reminder that it’s ok to practice a bit of self-love. When you’re chasing success and building your business (particularly those busy moms too), you really need that self-esteem boost that comes from looking after yourself mind, body, and soul.

What’s your blog? Good luck on making the switch 🙂
